1. With a republican congress? No way in hell.
As long as Frist and DeLay are the power brokers, this entire topic is DOA.

3. You Beat Me To The Reply...
...and I'm seeing precious little the Democratic party is doing to retake seats in either the House or Senate...doesn't anyone in the party care?

2. Impeachment is a political process...
...but I don't agree with those who say it wouldn't do any good to even try.

- Republicans probably thought they couldn't impeach Clinton when they started out. Their intent was to smear, discredit or drive him from office...keep him so busy defending himself from charges and allegations that he couldn't govern.

- Democrats have an advantage in that they don't have to invent charges or allegations...with Bush* it's all true.

4. I remember when these were first drawn up and...
word was Ron Dellums had it in his bottom drawer just waitng for the right time.

Problem is that without a Democratic House you can't get this out of committee. Probably can't even get it read into committee minutes.

Everyone in the House knows the Speaker and Committee chairman will just ignore the thing and let it die.

Thing is, we don't really need the Senate. We need the House to at least bring the articles to a vote. Actually convicting them in the Senate would be a nice touch, but an impeachment could be enough to have him pull a Nixon.

Of course, we can't have a House until 2005, and by then we hope we don't have a Bush.

So, maybe we forget about winning the White House and aim for the House so we get a chance to impeach him. (Or maybe I sober up.)

5. The point of impeachment is to WEAKEN the WH...
...and put them on the defensive using the truth as a weapon.

6. Yeah, but...
we can't get an impeachment without the House voting on one. And that's not gonna happen.

Better we spend our time getting out the vote next year.

7. Someone should introduce the action
What if Kucinich would introduce the articles of impeachment on Bu$h as is warranted? Sure the Republicans would not send it through, but can you imagine the good it would do the country and its reputation in the world if someone would have the courage to introduce the articles of impeachment?

Then the question is what would the media say?

8. The Media Would Eat Kucinich Alive
or anyone who dare to bring forth articles.

Anyway the process begins in the Judiciary committee and I'm not sure of the current line-up there.

Americans hated the inquisition of Clinton and there's no reason they wouldn't do the same for *.

While we see the many cases and reasons (and to say we haven't been looking would be disengenuous), the sheeple aren't that mad at WhittleAss.

Let's work to help him lose the election...far easier.

10. I really don't know the answer, so...
... I'm asking if it isn't possible for a group of citizens to file a class action lawsuit challenging the Patriot Act, for instance? A number of cities have refused to cooperate with it, it's clearly unconstitutional, and there must already be some aggrieved parties. I'm just thinking that if we can't do anything through the Congress, couldn't we do something through the Courts? Maybe not the Patriot Act, but there must be something illegal going on that someone is being deprived of rights. Or is that a silly idea?
