CNN is part of the psy-ops 'conditioning' for theocracy...
They've had specials about the evils of "infedelity and adultery"(Anderson Cooper, whose Right Wing bias is obvious when he attempts humor) from a religiously biased perspective, "Faith In America"(Eva Zahn, Poppy Bush's personal interviewer) heavy on Fundie propaganda...

Remember those ads CNN ran ad infinitum right after 9-11, like they had them ready to go? There's the commercial showing a guy genuflecting on life, and the message - JESUS? Yes Or No?
I had the feeling that if I chose "No", I'd be considered one of "them"..as in you're either with us or against us.
I'm sure Ashcroft has drawn his own conclusions. Or those "anti-drug" ads equating innocuous pot smoking with supporting Al Qaeda.

CNN is worse than Faux News, at least Faux News doesn't conceal their agenda.

1. The post- 9/ll ad you describe sounds very much like
a recruitment pitch for Crusaders willing to hurl themselves into the PENULTIMATE SOLUTION: Armageddon. With Kommandoh Chimpy leading the charge (well not really, he and Bunker Dick will be "in the rear" as soldiers like to say, but you can be sure they'll have lots of "things" to say to get tRuE bEliEviErs all ginned up on fear and hate), we will do, do, do, what we must, muddily must, muddily must.

2. I am afraid that too few of us realize.....
Just what a Right Wing Religious Nut the AG is. His hometown and mentors are where the council, without ever getting into the newspapers, lives that TELLS Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Jimmie Swaggert, Foreman...all the rest....what to say and do. And the county/city police there are a little gestapo. Three Universities and 100,000 softball players, you would look for a more liberal atmosphere wouldn't you. But not so.

15. Or Michael Jackson, or Ben and Jen, etc. etc. etc.
I DO miss Olberman, though, but I would guess he will be off the air in a few months because he isn't a whore. :-(

starts checking attendance records at churches to make sure we're going regularly or to see who is naughty or nice.

14. Actually, he jokes about this publicly
In the months after Sept 11, 2001, there was legitimate concern about Ashcroft's abuse of power. He appeared before the Senate and subjected to questioning.

He had the audacity to joke that people say about him that "he knows when you been sleeping, He knows when you're awake".

Senator Feinstein (i think it as) stopped him and said coldly, "A lot of people don't think that is funny."

Peter Jenning interviewed him for ABC News Tonight, concluding the talk by asking him what he thought of people who thought he abused power. Ashcroft mockingly adopted a sweet innocent expression and asked plaintively, "Who, me?"

Ashcroft is an ignorant fool who has been elevated to a position of great power. I think he regards himself as The Scourge of Sinners. He gets off on abusing power.

9. While we could be headed for theocracy...
I don't think it could ever last for long. Too many Christian sects, all with differing interpretations. Who wins? Catholics and Protestants killed each other in riots in the late 19th century over whose 10 Commandments would get posted in the schools. You think they could agree on how to run the country? There is no majority Christian denomination, and so it would descend into infighting rapidly.

11. They're helping the Republicans get out their base: the religious right.
CNN doesn't care about religion so much as they care about making sure Republicans win the next election.
