Poll question: What's your take on the new DU civility policy? |
|
This is absolutely not flame bait. I will state right now that I have the utmost respect for our mods and admins for the hours they devote to our cause. I'm just honestly curious.

I think I was scrupulous in affording equal weight to both sides of the issue.

I don't see an option for approving of the new rules?

I thought that the "old rules are fine" choice would suffice, but on reflection I should have included your entry.

4. well, let's go to the board: |
|
It's political correctness run amok: negative assessment
If you use one wrong word, you're gone: negative overstatement
Some inoffensive posts have been deleted: negative statement of failure
The old policy was fine: negative
Some offensive posts have been allowed: negative statement of failure
Hurtful words still appear in undeleted posts: negative statement of failure
Members should be allowed to post without restrictions: negative

In my attempt to provide a forum for those in favor of greater or lesser license for DU posters, I neglected to provide an option for those who think the new rules are correct. (Damn! I tried to get it right.)

7. Other: they don't go far enough! |

Personally I approve of all the changes that have been made, but I think there is still room for improvement.
I'm not quite sure what should be done (this isn't keeping me up nights), but the situation in GD Primary 2004 is hardly ideal.

Given what GD primary 2004 looks like right now, I can't even imagine what this place would look like without the civility rules.

would have the current rules as the "center point". Options would vary negative and positive from that point. This is no where near fair.
I like the new rules and think perhaps they could go further.

11. Please post any threads regarding DU policy in Ask the Admins |
|
I'd also like to point out there is no new policy, the existing policies are simply now being enforced.
