Check out this meeting Bush had, *after* the 2000 election but *before* he was installed in the oval office. In black and white, Bush states that he considers the food supply to be a "security" issue, in the weeks before he was installed into office.
He can't claim this time that the didn't think about it before. He can't blame his staff for not telling him something. He knew in advance that mad cow was a huge issue, and he stated categorically that it is a security problem for the US.
Well, he's had 3 years, we have mad cow disease, and where's Bush's master plan? Where's his agriculture policy? Where are the new Federal Standards? What did he put in place to secure the food supply from this horrible security risk? More important, what did he put in place to prevent this after 9/11?
The answer you all know. Nothing. He failed America in its time of need. Shame on Bush.
