Who is Eric Hauser? Why is he such an awful representative of the party?!! Why was he ALLOWED to represent the party?

Some window-dressing (a Black man speaking for the GOP) had the audacity to tout *'s economic issue by citing growth of the GDP. *uuggh* That was an easy one for Eric to swat down. But did he? Oh' hell no! That would have been too much like right. Instead he AGREED with it!!

The moderator, some busty woman who kept cutting Eric off, allowed the window-dressing to have the last word, yet he consistently cut Eric off. Did Eric respond in kind? Oh' nooooo, that would have been too much like having a backbone. Instead, he sat there with a stupid smile on his face.

No wonder people perceive Democrats as weak. Our spokespeople act weak!! In actuality, we have some of the most quick-witted, well-informed politicos there are, but all too frequently they're not the ones leading the televised debates.

2. we don't even know, do we, how who-goes-on gets picked

too many Capitol Hill critters, including my own, ignored or implying being ignored to our suggestions, policy recommendations, party strategy, etc., for the last 3 years ...

sending out those boilerplate reply letters ~ but, maybe only if you identified yourself for their 'records' your address, and other personal data on the embedded form so many use when the other option should be available in order to cross-communicate ... or, at least set up a "cc" system with an option for "other"

if they can't talk straight with us ... they must be either really out of touch, or totally sold out

there are some that keep ya guessing ... I guess this are the armadillos?

and, a few who are blatantly in the wrong colored jersey

this 'nod in agreement' folks aren't going to change until corporate america is made a responsible institution (and, definitely, not a person with civil rights)

... or, there really is rhyme and reason to a strategy-in-motion ...

3. "The fish rots from the head down".. McAuliffe sets the tone

and bear in mind too, that the Dems sat by with their thumbs up their noses , while the GOP set up think tank after think tank for THIRTY YEARS.. The GOP also has had an active "grassroots campaign" on the local level for YEARS and YEARS..

The Dem, as far as I can tell, have been complacent that the "ones who have supported us, will always support us"..

I would venture a guess that the 503-c and 527-c "organizations" are overwhelmingly republican..

The republicans have a pernicious message, so they must dress it up "all purdy" to get people to agree with it.. They have been dressing up this "pig" for years.. There are probably clandestine classes to teach the BBB (BlondeBimboBrigade) and the SSMG StuffedShirtMoralGuy) the art of effective interruption and fast-talking-while-saying-nothing. They all do it so effectively, and uniformly, that it could not just be an accident..

The people they put at the forefront are usually "good looking" people. Good looks sell.. Even though our people could have the best ideas since sliced bread, they will never get to present their ideas, until and unless they are readily available, articulate,and good looking.. That's the sad truth..

Add to that fact, the chaotic nature of "our platform".. The Dem's have allowed themselves to be defined by the "enemy" for too many years now.. We have aquiesced to the point of allowing them to "change" our name, without vociferously challenging it.. They have chaged us to the DemocRAT party, and we just let them.:(

The republicans have a defined agends.. A lot of it is code-speak, but their minions are aware of the code, so they can always get their message across..

Our messages are all blurred together.. Go to any protest and you can see that..
We have so many agendas, that it's almost impossible to get a large part of our constituency to agree on anything..

Theirs is simple enough for a 10 yr old to comprehend..

Republican party stands for..."Morality & Patriotism"..

They do not like to give details, because that's where the "icky" stuff is.. Corporate greed, racism, classism,prejudice,bribery.. etc.

The evidence of their duplicity is EVERYWHERE. but it must be spoken about in public.. We cannot seem to find the people who are willing and able to do it..

The media is probably complicit too, since it cannot be accidental that they usually schedule "Marvin Milquetoast" to represent our party , while they have Sean Hannity to represent the "other" side, but until we call them on it and start substituting at the last minute, we will always be at the disadvantage..

The subtle message that gets out to the public (the few who are actually paying attention) is that Dems are weak and do not aggressively push their message.."Do they HAVE a message?"..

4. Eric Hauser?

I’m not familiar with him, but sadly I have seen far to many Hauser wannabees on cable and network television, even heard several on NPR. You would think by now that party officials would have recognized the shortcoming –that is, sending sacrificial lambs to debate with voracious lions, and made the appropriate corrections. However, it appears that the people in the party who should be aware of this tactical flaw either are either encouraging this behavior, consciously averting their gaze, or not looking at all.

I would even suggest, no urge, many of our party ‘spokesmen’ to hang out on DU for a bit to not only gather information that they might be lacking, but also to learn how to counter standard (and oh so predictable, like the GOP negrobot babbling about the GDP) right-wing talking points. Time and again the GOP tells us what they are going say ahead of time, but it seems we (many party spokespersons) are always at a loss for counter arguments, even though we have had sufficient time to prepare.

It’s laudable to send out party representatives who are well-versed in the lies and hypocrisy of the *hole administration, but if they are unable to articulate that knowledge with passion, we can expect to be viewed as the political party without a message and vertebrae for a long time coming. And that, my friends, ain't a good thing.
