GOD also told Rev.Pat to fly diamonds out of Zaire on tax-exempt airplane

There was also, says Volder, the $7m he gave to 'Operation Blessing' to alleviate the woes of refugees fleeing genocide in Rwanda. Robertson's press operation puts the sum at only $1.2m. More interesting is the way the Operation Blessing funds were used in Africa. Through an emotional fundraising drive on his TV station, Robertson raised several million dollars for the tax-free charitable trust. Operation Blessing bought planes to shuttle medical supplies in and out of the refugee camp in Goma, Congo (then Zaire).

But investigative reporter Bill Sizemore of the Virginian Pilot discovered that over a six-month period - except for one medical flight - the planes were used to haul equipment for something called African Development Corporation, a diamond mining operation a long way from Goma. African Development is owned by Pat Robertson.

Did Robertson know about the diversion of the relief planes? According to pilots' records, he actually flew on one plane ferrying equipment to his mines.

One of Robertson's former business partners recalled that, although he often travelled in the minister's jet, he never saw Robertson crack open a Bible. 'Everywhere we were flying he had the Wall Street Journal and Investors' Daily.'

Volder asserts that Robertson was 'not trying to earn a profit, but to help people'. As it turned out, he did little of either. The diamond safari went bust, as did Robertson's ventures in vitamin sales and multi-level marketing. These disastrous investments added to his losses in oil refining, the Founders Inn Hotel and a jet- leasing fiasco.

1. What about this...?
One of Robertson's former business partners recalled that, although he often travelled in the minister's jet, he never saw Robertson crack open a Bible. 'Everywhere we were flying he had the Wall Street Journal and Investors' Daily.'

:eyes:
Of course, its all lies and people would never believe that
Robertson is a greedy son of a bitch.

3. This is the "As long as I make money for the LAWD it's okay" mindset
No matter HOW you make it. I used to work for a guy who was of this "thinking", money money money and it is all okay if you give some of it to your church...ALL IS FORGIVEN!!!!!!

2. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing
Robertson is using the ministry as con so he can get money and power. Wonder if the sheeple who contribute to him ever read these articles? Or do they just swallow whole whatever drivel Robertson feeds them?

4. Of course he's using the "ministry"
that's a given. BUT, if you read the entire article its quite
blatant that this guy has tremendous power. Its not about 2 million
zealots that believe everything he says and that form a "voting
block", there has to be more...blackmail comes to mind.

6. All this was documented by Greg Palast
See Greg's book THE BEST DEMOCRACY MONEY CAN BUY for dirt on Piggy Pat.

After reading it, you'll agree with me that now is the time to tax the churches!

8. Good ol' Operation Blessing & Pat Robertson
Boy this thing goes all the way back to the Iran-Contra days when Robertson was helping out Ollie North run drugs from Central America. To Robertson being charged with fraud for using the planes from his non-profit to haul mining equipment for his private operations in Africa.

Believe it or not Operation Blessing is still alive and well and just last year became the recipient of one the Bu$h administration's first faith-based grants. I wonder what Pat's doing on the side with his planes these days?
