Airline security seems stupid to me

Here's why.

Before 9-11, the mindset was "if a terrorist does something, sit quiet and wait for the police to negotiate and capture them". This is the only reason 9-11 was a 'success'. The fact that they had box cutters was irrelevent. Weapons in general were irrelevent. They could have hijacked the planes with no weapons at all, just like you can rob a bank by saying 'I'm robbing this bank".

After 9-11, the mindset became "if a terrorist does something, kill him because you will die if you don't". Weapons are still irrelevent, but for the opposite reason. I don't care if 30 guys try to hijack a 747 with machine guns now, they won't succeed. Every man on that plane will leap out of their seat and claws the bastard's eyes out no matter what the hijacker has.

So to me, the whole airport security thing seems irrelevent just as it always was. No amount airport security would have stopped 9-11, and no lack of security will allow another.

the whole airport security thing is a conditiong excercise to get the public used to the unconscionable invasions of a totalitarian government.

2. a complete joke
You're absolutely right. So I have to take my shoes off and get felt up by some non-union security for what exactly? No American will take a highjacking sitting down anymore.

Sure, we need to make sure no terrorist could bring bombs or guns on board, but nail files? ALMANACS??? Give me an effing break!

3. I'm furious over this weapon on airplanes...
You are very right. Besides, a terrorist can be a American but we're only looking for darkies. The chances of having a terrorist on board is the same as having the airplane crash, even after airplane maintanance. A terrorist can fill a perfume bottle with biochemicals and ground checkpoint would not detected.

The 911 terrorists were successful due to: 1) government reckless visa/passport policies (especially toward boosh business ties), 2)lack of ground security, 3) boosh was full of hate for Clinton's policies and drunk with power. The cowboy ignored the warnings of the Clinton administration.

5. But why should the men (or women)
on board have to sacrifice thier lives to prevent a hijacking that could have been prevented, or at least rendered less likely of success by airline security measures.

If you don't like them, take a train, or rent a car. cheaper, and less hectic even before 9/11

6. Those guys could have hijacked the planes with plastic spoons
what weapons they had is irrelevent because the mindset was different.
