Wow. :jawdrop:
Have you called your county supervisor of elections to verify that?
Hadn't even thought of your question until you asked it. Interesting.
Found some info on one of the FL machines (AVC Edge Voting Unit) and write-in voting. Don't know how many counties in FL are using these particular machines. I'll keep looking to see if I can find more on it.
Here's what I found so far:
Q: How do I write in a candidate?
A: To enter a write in name, touch the Write-In choice. A keyboard appears on the LCD touch screen. Type the name of the person you wish to write in by touching the buttons on the displayed keyboard. The keyboard has editing keys to change or correct spelling. A visual display of what has been typed us shown at all times.
When you are finished, touch the OK button. After touching OK, you are automatically returned to the ballot. The Write-In name you typed is shown in the ballot contest.
To cancel the Write-In, simply touch the checkmark and the checkmark will disappear. A new choice can be made.

http://www.voteindianriver.com/voter_svc/frqntly_askd_questions_edge.htmWhich leads me to ask, can the name of a listed candidate be written in? and will it be counted for the listed candidate? Common sense says it should be, but we're not really dealing with that, are we?
