1. Racist Ashcroft
"While hosting a dinner as governor of Missouri, she reports, Ashcroft once tactlessly insulted the African-American waiters at the mansion, noting that the valuables were "bolted down" because the waiters were convicts on furlough from state prison. Ashcroft allegedly told a guest: "I'm sure you know who the waiters are. You know how they are."

At the Justice Department, Bachrach alleges, Ashcroft has replaced influential women and minorities with white men, and when he gathered a group of female Justice lawyers to mark Women's History Month, he arranged for his wife, Janet, to address them.

3. Calico Cats Admit Fear of Attorney General
Calico Cats Admit Fear of Attorney General
April 2, 2002
By Gil Christner

A new poll of calico cats across the country reveals that a great majority of them are deathly afraid of Attorney General John Ashcroft, many of them stating that he is, in fact, a sign of the Devil.

A poll conducted by CNN/Time/Cat Fancy Magazine show that over 52% of the calico cats questioned feel very afraid of the Attorney General, and 36% are somewhat afraid. In addition, cats of other varieties and colors also admit to a high "disliking or feeling of avoidance towards" Mr. Ashcroft.

4. We've been aware.................
of what a nut job Asscrack is from the beginning. The general public however, doesn't realize the severity of his racist, sexist and religeowhacko ideology. This is NOT the sort of person that should be the top lawman in the country. What else would you expect from Bush though, the man who believes that God has anointed him as the leader of the free world?
The sheep continue to be fleeced, not knowing, not caring, in their ignorance is bliss mindset that serves them soooooo well.

5. snopes: Ashcroft's fear of calico cats "undetermined"
Which is good enough for me.

Snopes:

The "Attorney General John Ashcroft believes calico cats are a sign of the devil" claim began with a 20 November 2001 article by Democratic Party treasurer and financial writer Andrew Tobias, in which he wrote:

Shortly after becoming Attorney General, John Ashcroft was headed abroad. An advance team showed up at the American embassy in the Hague to check out the digs, saw cats in residence, and got nervous. They were worried there might be a calico cat. No, they were told, no calicos. Visible relief. Their boss, they explained, believes calico cats are signs of the devil. (The advance team also spied a statue of a naked woman in the courtyard and discussed the possibility of its being covered for the visit, though that request was not ultimately made.)

Tobias later wrote:

I've written for a variety of magazines over the last 30 years, including a column in TIME for several years, and have some appreciation of the need not to publish allegations as true unless I've checked them out. I got this odd story from someone who was definitely in a position to know and then confirmed it with someone else, also in a position to know.

6. There was a post on DU a couple of years ago
talking about how Ashcroft's staff was chuckling about how they had to "sweep" an area for black cats when Ashcroft visited Europe for some reason.

No slur intended on his religion but, I've known people from my parents' era (born circa 1920's) that firmly believed this. This is something Ashcroft learned from a very early age.

8. I think you can swipe away at Ashcroft's "religion"...
It has nothing to do with true Christian values, and everything to do with 14th Century insanity. Ashcroft has none of the virtues of Christianity; yet he has managed to fall into virtually every pitfall there is on the way to understanding the true meaning of Jesus' message of peace, forgiveness and tolerance.

Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. You can tell the true believers by their actions.

7. I think Ashcroft might have to rethink this
I think Tortoise shell cats are demonic. In fact I have one and her name is Terra-ist, for a reason. Of course her name at the vet is only Terra so they don't phone me in.

Maybe I should phone her in. Can't be too careful under a Orange alert.

Damn she's in here reading this, got to go.

9. What would happen if
people suddenly all over the nation were to send John Ashcroft pictures of Calico cats? Put no return address and drive to the next town to post your missive. Just a picture of a calico cat - no comments, nothing else.

Would he get the idea that somebody didn't like him, or what?

12. What a charming thing to do! Where is the harm in sending
cheery pictures of cute kittens to our overburdened AG?

I love it--let's do it.

10. Asscroft would be in trouble if he ever met JC.
First, he would have to accept that he ISN'T Jesus Christ, and second:

JC might very well be found in Gitmo.

Think about point 2 awhile . . .
