Passports and dual citizenship.. ?
I for one am worried about our country..

I really hate to see the Bush crime family rule our country , 1 term should be enough to expose his corruption, yet I see the American people turn their heads to the PLAIN FACTS...

Some say there is a chance that we have gone to far...that it is to late and the country could collapse, the dollar is crashing, We have massive deficits and debt.

So I was wondering about getting a passport and forming a escape plan to another country, how would one go about making this plan ?...I really don't want to wait till the dollar hits bottom and OPEC switches to the Euro to form a plan, It might be very difficult to get a passport and make a new life somewhere else after the collapse

1. check out escapeartist.com. Lots of info about how to relocate.
If I remember correctly, you can "purchase" a citizenship to Belize for under $100,000, or if you have a guaranteed monthly income of a certain amount (as in SS). Plenty of ways to retire in Mexico, too. My brother is retiring in Brazil, where prices are nothing.

2. I read a book a couple years ago
by a guy of Italian descent who found he was eligible for an Italian passport because his grandfather was born in Italy. There is a similar situation for Ireland, too, I understand.

My grandparents emigrated from Hungary early in the last century, and never became U.S. citizens, even though they could never travel. I need to do some research to see if I could obtain a passport.,

Information on Italian citizenship for U.S. citizens of Italian descent

If you were born in the United States you may also be considered an Italian citizen if any one of the situations listed below pertains to you:

1) Your father was an Italian citizen at the time of your birth and you never renounced your right to Italian citizenship;
2) Your mother was an Italian citizen at the time of your birth, you were born after January 1, 1948 (and before April 27, 1965) and you never renounced your Italian citizenship;
3) Your paternal grandfather was an Italian citizen at the time of your father's birth and neither you nor your father ever renounced your Italian citizenship;
4) Your mother was born in the United States, your maternal grandfather was an Italian citizen at the time of her birth, you were born after January 1, 1948 and neither you nor your mother ever renounced your rights to Italian citizenship.

and more . . .

I looked into this for jollies about 2-3 years ago. Unfortunately, we could not find any of my grandfather's papers.
