The difference is the deep Bush connections with (secretive) INTELLIGENCE organizations. Says Clinton dynasty is now taking shape. (sorry for those who like this idea...but I'm not crazy about the Clintons). But they're only about some sweetheart deals.

25. Philips wasn't even listed on the C-Span Website! I heard a promo when

I was in another room and didn't catch the time. Went onto C-Spans website and was all over for tonight's schedule and they had "nothing scheduled." I finally quit and just turned the TV back on and there he was. I missed the first 10 minutes! I hope it's repeated but seemed C-Span didn't want the repeat on it's website. (Even they must be having problems with the BFEE) Sheesh!

21. Well, he issued a challenge to the press, pretty much saying he'd laid it

out and the information isn't hard to find....so he would hope there would be at least 5 articles after his book has been read, in the press following some of the information.

One questioner asked if Philips thought it was "corporate ownership" of the press that had caused there to be so little follow up. He ducked that question, but it's easy to see that he's somewhat angry that none of this has been covered.

In the beginning of his talk he said he started to write his book in 2002 because "no one else would." That says alot...

Plus he said that we won't probably ever get the details about Grandpoppy Bush because the interconnections were too closed off...John Foster Dulles, Alan Dulles and Averill Harriman. No one would talk then about it so the information is buried or gone or just won't ever be revealed.

But I will do so today because if ANYONE can hold his/her own with a rightwing nutcase like Scarborough, it's Kevin Phillips.

I've been reading Phillips since Sept. 2000 when I picked up a book of his ("The Cousins' Wars," absolutely essential to understand the long-term history behind the swing to right, IMHO) to use for research on a poli sci paper. Two of the 3 profs (one repuke, one center Dem) teaching the class said Phillips was "right wing," former Nixon aide. But reading the book, I couldn't dismiss the liberal-left logic of his writing. When I used him as a source for my final project and stated that despite his political history, his views were definitely anti extremist-neo-aristo, the third prof (socialist Dem) gave me a big thumbs up for getting beyond the "image" and going for the substance.

I've seen Phillips on Bill Moyers and other C-Span panel discussion type shows, and he is right up there will Bill Greider, Krugman, Ivins, and a handful of others for brilliance in political analysis.

I want to see this book at #1 -- for a long, long, long time.

I remember when I first came to DU and some of the other boards before that and every time I raised the Bush history with the Nazis I was told that I was stupid, that it was not true, if true it was irrelevent to Dubya, that it was ancient history and I sounded like I was off my meds and in need of commitment.

Now we hear about it every day and we ALL know.

But I am still amazed when people I expect to be FULLY informed are not at all.

I gues they do not read DU. They STILL read only places like the Nation or the Progressive and SOMEHOW miss these stories.
