New details emerged Monday about Saddam's capture Saturday evening.

Soldiers from the 4th Infantry Division who participated in the raid said they were preparing to toss a grenade or fire into a hole they had uncovered -- standard procedure for their own safety -- when they saw a pair of upraised hands. (Gallery: Saddam's capture)

The hands belonged to a face -- the haggard, weary face of Saddam.

"I am Saddam Hussein," the bearded ex-leader told the soldiers. "I am president of Iraq. I want to negotiate."

The soldiers replied: "President Bush sends his regards."

This has been proven to be a propaganda fabrication. No soldier said that.

I have no opinion on this picture, but I think the Kurds drugged him anyway. Even if he wasn't drugged by the Kurds, you can bet your ass that the soldiers put some sort of intoxicating gas into the hole like how the Russian military handled the hostage crisis in Moscow last year (or was it the year before?).

And I oppose these pictures of Saddam Hussein. He is a POW. If America doesn't respect the Geneva Convention, why should any other country?

4. When I first heard of the capture, my suspicions were aroused..

because I remembered the the new Iraqi Governing Council has just passed a law to try "war criminals" a few days before.

When I heard the Official Story, my "bullshit" meter went to high.

When I heard the Kurd's story later, I thought "that sounds closer to the truth".

When I heard that Patriot II was signed by Bush the day of the capture, well....

And now with this picture, is there any doubt?

5. Why is the soldier's face blurred?

I want to know who he is, and I'd like to see him face the media and answer questions about this important issue. He is a hero, after all.

6. I suspect the Kurds had been holding him for quite a while.

They're not stupid - they want an independent Kurdistan, and they
needed something to bargain with, so it makes perfect sense.

If the Bush administration hoped to humiliate Saddam by releasing
those photos, I think it's backfired. I doubt if anyone feels
sorry for Saddam, but he looked so pathetic, it's a bit embarrassing
to think "is that what we're all supposed to be so afraid of?" If
he'd been taken in hand to hand fighting or something, there might
have been dancing in the streets, but instead I think people would
just like to forget about him. Perhaps that's also because most
people now realise that whatever Saddam had done to his own people
in the past, he was actually no threat to the rest of the world for
the last ten years - it was all a Big Lie.

9. I don't know what I think so I couldn't reply to your poll. I thought Pix

was grotesque, though. I'm sick of this Invasion and the deaths and the maimed for Bush's War and Wars. I think it's all lies. I don't believe anything I hear from this Admin or the Whore Press about Saddam or his Capture. I know I'm in the minority here, but I feel he could have been contained and we are relplacing the "Evil" of Saddam with "Evil" of our own with MY TAX DOLLARS! and our troops blood.

So, I don't want to ever see another "Saddam" picture....sorry...but that's the way I feel.
