Bob Kerrey on Iraq (my old Senator!)
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 10:06 PM by i_am_not_john_galt
"I think going well. It breaks my heart whenever anybody dies, but we liberated 25 million people who were living under a dictator. It puts us on the side of democracy in the Arab world. Twenty years from now, we'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who says it wasn't worth the effort. This is not just another democracy. This is a democracy in an Arab world..." - former Democratic Senator, and New School University president, Bob Kerrey, December 29, 2003.

Edited to fix the spelling pointed out below - thanks!

3. As someone pointed out before the war, the US has
invaded 30+ countries since WWII to bring democracy to the masses. Hasn't worked yet. Our government is too interested in proping up puppets.

4. We've also overthrown democracies...
when our government has deemed doing so to be in our interest -- e.g. Iran '53 and Chile '73.
