CNN has finally bit the dust
The latest poll question:

"Was the war in Iraq justified if Iraq was not pursuing a weapons of mass destruction program?"

What the hell?!?!! Have even they forgotten that the war was launched because Iraq was supposed to actually have the damned weapons, not have a weapons program!!! Fer crissakes there isn't a country of any size on earth that doesn't have a research department looking into weapons technology. The damned administration lied to Congress about this and now the friggin last bastion of truth, our media is buying right into the spin being thrown out there. What the hell are these reporters afraid of? Aren't there any real journalists left?

3. Absolutely the case...
... this poll is phrased to elicit a response from those who think getting Hussein was all the justification that was required. This poll is designed to show concurrence with the administration's current spin.

16. think about it some more
I had the same reaction as you at first, but the original poster makes a very good point.

It's outrageous that the media play any role at all in moving the goal posts exactly in the way Bush is trying to do.

17. it's a false question!
It's an example of CNN trying to lead people down the garden path, allowing them to accept that the premise for war was some weapons program.

A WEAPONS PROGRAM was NOT what was sold to the American public as cause for war.

10. Here's my CNN poll question:
What is CNN, really?
A) Propaganda mouthpiece of the US government.
B) A television news service.

Correct answer? Most likely 'A'.

11. Shows what a strange country we live in
Tony Blair's approval ratings are in the 20's and he's the least trusted man in Britain because the rationale for the war proved false. Chimpy's in the 60's and most Americans still think the war was justified.

Go figure.

14. they should re-phrase this:
"Was the war in Iraq justified if Bush lied about the threat of weapons of mass destruction?"

or

"Were the 500 American deaths, 10,000 injuries, and $160 billion justified if Iraq was not pursuing a weapons of mass destruction program?"

though, sadly, the results would probably still be the same :evilfrown:
