Of all the weighty things that happened yesterday including 10 of our troops killed in Irag, American soldiers killing parents of five sleeping children, the reports released about Iraq and how the administration misled the American people, ENRON crooks and plea bargains...the main thing in the WP is about Joe Gibbs (and I love him), and Bush wanting to go to the moon.
My question is, why aren't people taking to the streets? Repulicans and the rest of the neocons were out in force two days before the damning reports were released putting their spin on this administration's actions. They put Powell out in front to say in so many words that they were wrong because they know he will be dismissed by the neocon base. They put Perle out in front to tell the American people that they really don't care about WMDs in Iraq and that all that matters to them is that Saddam is gone. And the rest of the so-called mainstream media is out there reporting on how wonderful it is that Joe Gibbs is returning to the Washington Red Skins (as if the rest of the country really should care), that the Peterson trial will be moved to fairer ground, and that the Lotto Liar has finally confessed. Meanwhile 10 American military were killed, a cargo plane was shot at but returned safely to base, 34 soldiers were wounded in a military base attack, and Fastow and others will plea bargain their way out of tough prison time (poor kids can do without their mothers who may be guilty of only being present when their boyfriends or spouses used or sold drugs and Mrs. Fastow will be allowed to serve 5 months because her children need her---what happend to the Nanny?), d the Bush administration with the help of Congress as slipped middle-income workers a "Mickey" on their taxes that they will only discover when Bush is out of office, and those applauded and hated Medicare changes are finally coming home to roost.
