Is there anything good that Bush did as president?
When I have a discussion with conservative Bush supporters, they'll occasionally concede that they liked something Clinton did or they like a position of one of the Democrats. Then they challenge me to do the same for Bush. I usually say something along the lines of him being a decent guy who stands up for what he believes or that I liked his Roadmap for Peace before it crashed. And he doesn't micro-manage everything and leaves the detailed work for his cabinet to do therefore streamlining the process.

Is there anything else you can think of?

Stay on the ranch, George. Oh, and he raises money like no other president even dreamed of. And his pulse rate is good, too. Finally, Barney is a cute doggie. That's it.

51. Do you approve of his going AWOL
from the National Guard? He transferred from Texas to Alabama 15 months before his tour was over. Then never showed in Alabama. Instead, he took a paying job on the political campaign of a family friend. He was grounded as a pilot for not taking the required physical. You can check all this out for yourself. The supply plane he was trained to fly had already been discontinued for use in Viet Nam, ensuring that he would never be sent into combat. Yet he showed up on the carrier in a flight suit posing as a warrior. As the mother of an active service Marine, I find that behavior despicable.

8. There was a thread about this yesterday...
And it's a leading question, like "Why do male DUers still beat their wives?" Why the hell should we HAVE to think of something good about a murderous, theiving, blueblood, oil-rich fuck with no conscience? The evidence that he's an evil, power-hungry oppressor is out in the open for all who care to see. Do we have to think of good things to say about Charles Manson in the name of "balance?" Any good this remorse-less figurehead little rich boy has done has been utterly wiped off the map by ALL the bad stuff he's done.

23. Well, he...
...allowed us to experience firsthand what it was like when our ancestors came to this country several generations ago and had to build a life with no job, no money, and a potentially bleak outlook for the future. I'm GLAD Karl Rove created him. Otherwise, he'd probably just have sat around in Texas, drinking beer, snorting coke, and playing Nintendo.

don't you think the corporations will be greatfull to Bush for giving them a source of cheap labor?
Only difference is now the corporations won't have to pay the fines involved in hiring this cheap labor.

where have you been? So. Tell us how the math is going to play out on the 8 million undocumented workers and their toll on the state's social services? HOPE scholarship in Georgia? Healthcare? Unemployment compensation? Maybe you didn't realize that the majority of state governments are bankrupt. Where will the money come from for the teachers and schools? The additional taxes won't cover the cost.

solar panels and such.

Would be a great example, if it would get sufficient air play, which it doesn't.
And to bad it's not an option for those who can't pay their energy bill.

Bush is not a decent guy, he does nothing but bear false witness (thanks Al, great book).

He doesn't micro manage because he does not manage at all; he's just the talking head for PNAC and his corporate backers, knowingly and willingly.

However Rumsfeld does micromanage the army and Cheney does micromanage the intelligence agencies.
