So, How Those World-Beating Phillies Doing?
I searched the tops of the NL standings, but I couldn't find Philadelphia anywhere.

Then I turned my paper upside down and found them - in dead last.

Just like I said they would be.

As for my Mets, well they're 1.5 games out of the top spot.

Looks like someone owes me $50. Might as well pay up now.

:D

1. As much as I hate all Philadelphia sports
I wouldn't start bragging just yet. Unfortunately, I think they'll wind up winning the division.

for saying the Nets would finish atop the NBA East. It looks like those predictions didn't happen the way you expected them to. GO PACERS!!!!!!

4. lol
First in the middle of November it was wait til next week when the Nets are atop the East. Then it was 'ask me this question again in April(or was it March)? Pacers have the best record in the league and no team especially the Nuts will hold us back. :D

5. Did they get booed their first game in their new park?
:7

Of course, since my team is a stellar 4-4 (and got their ass kicked at home AGAIN last night), I won't say much.

6. Wow, did the baseball season get shortened to just 10 games?
Let's see what happens after 162 games.

I mean, the Eagles were 1-3 the begining of the football season and we ended up with a 12-4 record

14. That's true
The Phillies haven't even played the equivalent of one Eagles game. Now granted, bad starts are traditionally bad news for the Phils - but they do have a lot of talent in the lineup. It's like everyone's in a slump at the same time. BTW, I think those Eagles are going all the way next year! We've gotta win one sometime. :hi:

8. Are you referring to the losingest team in US pro sports history?
For those of you playing along at home, that would be 8,681 losses and still counting. No team in ANY American professional sport has lost as many games. Currently a robust 1-6, they opened their new ballpark the same way they closed their old one ... with a loss. And yes, the fans booed.

9. They also play 162 games a year
I say the Cardinals or the Clippers are the losingest teams. Atleast Philly won a championship.

12. You can say it.
It won't be true, but you certainly can say it. Facts are pesky things, and it is an incontrovertible fact that the Phillies have lost more games than any other pro sports franchise in US history.

Geez, it's 7 games into the season. I'm not going to proclaim them out of it just yet.

Mets suck.
