Guitar players: Anyone use piezo pickups in an electric?

I've heard they provide an awesome clean tone and was wondering what it costs to add a piezo to a guitar.

2. Don't know what it costs to add them but you can get a Brian Moore iguitar

for about 800 bucks that comes with them

4. Not advisable

Piezos are contact pickups that read the vibrations off a surface. The surface of an electric (at least a solidbody electric) doesn't vibrate enough from the strings to set a piezo off, since they tend to be low output (to keep acoustics from squealing). You could try it in a hollowbody or a semi, but there's still the low-output thing. Those pickups are made to translate tones from the vibrations coming from soundboard or bridge of an acoustic.
