4. Damn
I always wondered why my "wine enthusiast" friends looked at me funny when I describe my wine as tasting "bloody" and "crunchy."
Go figure.

8. I Love French Reds

although I tend to buy Cabernet or Beaujolais.

My favorite was actually a George duBoef called "Chenat" that sold for $13 (above my usual range) -- light, fruity, and spicy. Been hard to find, but it's worth buying if you see it.

10. Are you sure that you got the real thing?
Afaik the french, apart from the big wine-factories, don't sell the real thing to the USA. They have special wines that fit to hamburgers and coke, 'cause they think the real thing wouldn't be appreciated in the USA. Saw it in an interview with a french wine-farmer here in Germany.
The french wines sold in the US taste like fruit juice with wood-parts.
I hope it's not true.
Dirk (from Germany - even here, you have to look to find the real thing, but as long as it has enough %, who cares?)
