I always liked her, but never had the nerve to do anything about it. She wasn't drop-dead gorgeous, but I really liked her. Not to mention she was just as liberal as I. Remember one day I went into school and had written a story about the Hugo Chavez coup on the front of the school paper. Right when she saw it, before even knowing who had written it, she was intrigued. Probably the only kid there who even knew who Hugo Chavez was. I'd bet most teachers even didn't.

I was in a steady relationship with the woman who is now my wife, and I got more attention from single ladies than I ever had before, or since I got married. I guess when I was single and desperate, women sensed it. But when I was with her, I looked more attractive to them. Small wonder, if you saw my wife.
