My uncle John has huge ears and a gentle soul. He used to play a songs called "Filipino Baby "and "Take an old cold tater and wait" on his new RCA victrola
He told good war stories and smoked unfiltered camel cigarettes
They will amputate Uncle Johns leg at the University of Kentucky hospital on Sept 4
First he had lymph glands removed from his groin
Then he lost some toes
then a foot
Cancer is taking my Uncle John away inch by inch
He was moms favorite , and he always favored Willie, his big sister
Time and memories can be cruel

like the old victrola where the music would slow turn by turn.
But a few cranks on the winder upper would bring new life to the music.
People ain't like that. A pity.
