you are still hung over! By the way, if you've never finished a wood floor before, be sure you cover anything you don't want to be dusting for years. And be sure the finishers don't do the work on a muggy, humid day, and get 3 (not 2) coats of poly. Have a ball!

I started the day at 3am, help to rangle a puppy that rampaged through the studio! Then had to stop same puppy from getting it on with another puppy that was visiting the studio! And I have yet to have breakfast! But I have had 2 cups of coffee!

We're looking for a house right now, and our top 2 choices both don't have carpeting on the main floor. Carpeting is overrated, no?

12. You'll get no sympathy from me.......

In the past 14 months, we remodelled our kitchen, our dining room/living room and master bath and a powder room and the laundry room. The bathroom and powder room were complete remodels, down to the studs. We've knocked out walls and had a hardwood floor installed in the kitchen to match the rest of the first floor.

First step, pull out the hideous shag carpeting. 1200 sq. ft. of brown shag with a staple every 6 inches around the perimeter. All with beautiful red maple hardwood floors underneath.

But it was well worth it.

Next......the garden. But that can wait until next year.

13. We just put in shag carpeting!

But we don't have any hardwood floors to cover up.

I used to have an 1898 house and we refinished several wood floors ourselves. Power sander and the whole nine yards. Very satisfying.
