Although some of the methods involved I don't agree with, New Zealand's "King of Spam" appeared on national television tonight to apologise and announce that he has gotten out of the spam business.
Well, when I say apologise I mean that he said he was sorry if his perfectly legal actions offended anyone, but he is definately out of the business of selling penis enlarging supplements and all of his other products using spam.
So what happened to make this spammer hang up his mass mailers? Revenge! It seems that someone posted this guy's personal information, email address, phone number etc, and his victims have decided that turn about is fair play. He was inundated with forwarded spam, emails and phone calls. Although some could be considered threatening and should never have happened, it seems that the majority was justly deserved.
Oh the irony of seeing the "King of Spam" sitting there complaining of hundreds of forwarded spam mails per day! Hell, he seemed perplexed that people would do such a thing, yet when asked doesn't he recognise that he was merely suffering what he had put others through, he sort of accused the senders of being childish, and that he was probably responsible for only one mail per week, and that people could be taken off at any time.
Of course he isn't the only source of spam, but he symbolised to many NZ netizens the entire industry, and boy did he feel their wrath!
Justice is served, and a spammer bites the dust!
