Poll question: Should our fund drive target be raised?

We already have 210 donors (as of 3:15; probably many more now), and the target is 500 by next Sunday.

3. Don't count your chickens!

The first day is always the best... it will slow down considerably from here on out.

However, I can also add that the response so far has been absolutely tremendous. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, and let's try and hit that target!

4. Fund Raising 101 . . .

far better to set a modest goal and beat it than to set an overly ambitious one and miss it . . .

5. With over 30,000 members, 2500 donations shouldn't be difficult.

I think we can do it. Even if it's $5 or $10 at a time.

on edit: okay, so I'm an eternal optimist. But sometimes when the goal is too small, people quit donating after it is reached and you've fallen far short of the potential. That may mean you have to come and ask for more in a very short time.

but 500 donations is actually an ambitious goal. We've never taken in that many before in a single fund drive.

However, DUers are really stepping up to the plate this time - I feel pretty confident that we'll be able to make it.

I say raise it to 1000.
