Poll question: What ages are we here at DU?
I've been curious to know where we fall age-wise. Have been surprised to learn how young some DUers are. Please indicate which group you're in, and don't bother lying, since it's all anonymous! I broke the first group at 17 because (most) 17-year-olds will be old enough to vote in November 2004.

It surprises me you are 16 because you seem to be one of the most informed people out there on what is going on.

49. hang in guys (gals?)
it all evens out. i turned 18 30 days in time to vote for mc govern against nixon in 1972, the first election 18 years olds could vote. started college and had a crazy poli sci prof who actually thought that that silly little break in at the watergate would lead to something BIG TIME. sometimes things move much too slowly for a teen.

as a bonus, 30 days after my 19th b-day illinois lowered the drinking age to 19 and soon after i turned 21 they rasied it again to keep the little shits outta the bars.

hey, I am very surprised at the age for both of you guys and agree that you both are very well informed, it is very heartening. keep it up!!!! my son is 17, registered to vote and is the chicago area high school coordinator for kerry. havn't gotten him into du yet tho, time will tell.

reminds me of the headline on the Variety obituary for Jack Benny:
"Jack Benny Dead at 39" (Benny was 39 and holding for over 30 years...)

Vitruvius

P.S: My favorite Variety headline was after the 1929 stock market crash: "Wall Street Lays an Egg".

44. using onlineconversion.com's 'dog years' calculator, i would be 129.
and it's not 7 dog years to one human, either, so that won't help you. they said it's "10.5 dog years per human year for the first 2 years, then 4 dog years per human year for each year after."

i'm not even gonna check and see if that's right.

... but old-feeling 56. They say the legs go at 35, and mine went at 40. It was still a long time ago--too long ago for me to be giving Michael Jordan fits on the court.

Exercise now is limited to consumption of pleasant wine, inspired cooking, good conversation, longish walks and a little sweetness in the night, every once in a while.

Cheers.
