"Queer as Folk" for straight women?

I watched a show on VH1 called "Totally Gay" the other day, (I don't know why), and there was a segment about how straight women watch Queer as Folk because it's all hot guys making out with one another. They showed clips of the show, and lo and behold, it WAS all hot guys making out with one another! I feel that I've missed tapping a great, unknown resource of hotness. Frankly, I think gay sex is hot. :evilgrin:

So, ladies? Do you watch the show? Is it hot? Is it really, really hot? Do you have Queer as Folk parties where you all get together and squeal at the TV? Should I be watching this show?

1. The scripts are really awful, IMO.

The scripts are so...not good. I've watched 2 full ones, and I couldn't sit through the third. But truthfully, I find that to be the case with all Showtime original series and films, fairly talented actors with bad scripts.

Also, I think they could have done MUCH better in the "hot" department--while I find Gale (Brian) to be quite sexy, the others don't do it for me. In one ep I saw, I almost melted when I saw him kissing someone. Woo!

on edit: Uh, okay, the guy who plays Justin is cute too. But isn't he supposed to be in high school? Too 'jail bait-ish' for me.

If it were better written, *maybe* we could have QAF parties...

Anyone ever see the British version? It's based on a Brit version, yes? How does it compare?

Meh, scripts, schmipts. :) I watch Smallville, okay? Hot guy action trumps scripts every time. :evilgrin:

i know some lesbians who love gay male porno...not my tee, but i can undesrtand it.
i think the brian character appeals to many...gay, straight, male and female. you should download the older shows from kazzalite to get a feel for what it's all about.

8. Well, they have Season 1 on DVD to rent at my video store...

I figured I'd just get volume 1 and see if I enjoyed the eps. I don't download, I have dial-up, I'd be 70 before I saw the first ep! :)

I'm with you chica. Boys making out is hot. Not a big QaF fan but I'm heavily involved in "slash" fiction on the net. And I have been to parties at a "slash" convention where we watched QaF (had the Brit and US versions running simultaneously for maximum smuttiness) and we giggled and lusted over the boys.

How is it that we never talked about this before? I read and line-edit slash online almost every single day. What kind of slash do you like?
