A simple (for you folks) computer question

A friends computer has been running fine with the exception of one little frustrating problem. All of a sudden, it started scrolling in unbelievably slow motion. I mean SLOW motion. Everything else works just fine.

Any ideas on what it could be?

1. Sounds Like a Memory Problem

If the machine doesn't have enough RAM - that's different from space on the hard drive - then it has to go to the hard drive to swap out. See what programs are running and shut the ones you don't need, because they all take up memory.
