Just got back from a 25 hour trip out west. Had a 5 hour meeting in LA - only way to do the trip was a latenight flight out - and a redeye back lastnight/this morning.

THe whole trip came up very fast - less than a weeks time - so not much time to do any planning. Lets call the planning outside of the meeting spontaneous.

Got to have drinks with a couple of Duers... (Dove turned Hawk... and... Nothingshocksmeanymore); and got to hang out more after my meetings and before my redeye flight out - with the famous NSMA.

Admit it. You are jealous. :D

(Btw, recovering from redeyes ... bleeeeech!)

It appears to have been gold plated - award winning and all of that. Being the timid creature that I am... I was afraid to touch it. But I did get to ride IN the car. Does that count?

2. I am VERY jealous!

Sounds like you had a great time and I hope you recover soon. I think it is so cool that DUers can go all over the country -- and some parts of the world even -- and hook up with other DUers. What's even better, I've never seen a report of it being a bad experience, always quite the opposite.

Two of the people I would MOST like to meet on DU! And with you, that would be THREE of the people I would most like to meet! That's a great group, I'm glad you had such a nice time.

sweeter - with a great sense of humour! Teena is more than brilliant - and I needn't even comment on her wicked cool wit.

Best moment was getting picked up at the airport - by someone I "know" but had never met... had to wave her down (I caught a glimpse of the car first...) She was getting chased away from the curb for waiting from me by security - so I ended up jumping in chaotically in the middle of the road rather than going back to the curb.

It was blast.

Next week I'm off for my own rather impromptu beach trip at the invitation of a very sweet and wonderful DUer. So NSMA's car won't (likely) be there - we'll still have fun in the hot tub. And she HAS promised to sell me into some kind of bizarre love slavery, so all in all it's looking like a good time will be had. ;-) I'll be sure to send y'all a postcard. :P
