Isn't sexual "preference" kind of stupid?
I'm a heterosexual, but it's not as if I'll go out to the bar and if I don't pick up any women at the end of the night, I'll go "Well, I prefer girls, but since I can't get any, I'll just go home with that guy at the end of the bar."

I mean, its not as if we're being asked to take caramel topping because they've run out of hot fudge, is it?

3. Well, it sort of makes sense for bisexuals
But there are a lot of people who are either one or the other, and for them it makes little to no sense. It's just who you are, it's not a choice.

6. I guess I am a bisexual then...
'Tho I am exclusively with men now, I have been with women in the past and it doesn't seem even out of the ordinary, much less out of the question, to choose to be with women again.

But I don't really think of myself as bisexual, I think of it as being a choice depending on the actual individual, not an entire gender of people.

I can understand your confusion if you've never felt that way, but I assure you many, many people have erotic and romantic feelings toward people of both sexes, and if it weren't for societal mores, I think there would be millions of people "batting for both teams".

9. That's cool
It's not like the idea is completely foreign to me, it's just that I can't understand how anyone, male or female, can find the male body attractive. I mean, I find my own repulsive, not to mention the bodies of other men.

Anyway, yeah, societal mores suck. I'm lucky I had parents who taught me not to give a flying fuck what other people think of me.

I'm horribly out of shape at the moment. Not obese, really, but I'm not happy with my weight.

14. How very strange...
While I'm not all that thrilled by my body, I think men in general are gorgeous. And, even though I'm gay, I find many women attractive (just not sexually tempting).

16. I think exactly the opposite...
Well, except for the not being thrilled with my own body part. But, I'm addressing that, so things will get better there.

But, I can appreciate that a man is attractive, I just have no sexual attraction. But women are a completely different story! }(

17. I think it's that pesky penis that ruins things for me
The rest of the male body, when in good shape (say, Brad Pitt, or Johnny Depp) is quite beautiful, it's the penis that throws me off. Penises = ugly.

18. Cat been there...I saw a 'guy' turned out to be a girl...did not change
my desire for the person..in fact I have NEVER persued a man, but I persued this woman even after I found out 'he' was a 'she'. I was rejected, because I am sure she thought I was a switch hitter and she was a pure lesbian. Which is true! My sig other for 15 years is a man...a wonderful man, but I coulda.....I think? Anyway after that I checked out my sexuality to see if maybe I was a lesbian? I went with a few women and found that although women are VERY sexy in many cases, I do prefer men 90% of the time?

8. Yeah, it ends up sounding so damn clinical
We should just say "People we like to fuck" and be done with it.

11. A question for all you gay gents.
Edited on Thu Aug-21-03 01:32 PM by Rainydaze
My fiancee gets queasy when I shave, but hairy is just so ick. How do you deal with this or do you find it attractive? Just curious.

I should explain that I live in Arizona, excess hair leads to uncomfortable stickiness in places better left unmentioned.

12. How about "manscaping"??
LOL

Manscaping = trimming body hair w/ clippers. Has some advantages to shaving. 1) a lot less irritation (razor-burn) 2) Makes ya look all buff and shtuff 3) Isn't as totally queer as shaving your whole body.

13. Doesn't always make a whole lot of sense for bisexuals...
Simply because a number of us aren't really oriented to both men and women at the same time...like mentioned above it's more being oriented to whomever you're hot for at a given time - and they may just happen to be male or female.

19. I don't even have one, and I kind of don't like
it being described as "sexual" orientation or preference. My relational orientation is where I pick women over men, most of the time, because I can relate to them better, with men sometimes it almost feels cross-cultural, but sex? It's all good.

I personally think the fundies want the focus on sex, in the terminology aspect.

20. I have distinct sexual preferences...
...which have little or nothing to do with my orientation, aside from being subsets thereof, perhaps. Most people call them 'types,' as in "She's really not my type," or something. :)
