Ever loose a non-tangible aspect of your life?

One of the worst feelings is to lose a routine aspect of your life,

1. when I had a child

I felt like a lost a sense of myself as an independent person with lots of free time. I think that is part of change. It took a while to find that creative and free part of myself again. Interesting question.

You want to talk about CULTURE SHOCK!

For about the first three years you lose your mind...and it never actually comes back as sharp as it was before! (Joking...SORT OF)

4. There's that joke

when you have a baby, you wake up after a few weeks one day and think, "Ohhhhh, okay, I get it ... EVERY day."

No one can prepare you for that feeling of, what, I'm supposed to make sure someone resonsible, if not me, is watching this little creature every single minute for the next several years.

Still, wouldn't trade the experience for several million dollars ...

6. right

it is pretty intense but amazing, but when you see them loving the world and enjoying everything that is new, it is an astonishing thing. And then eventually they can analyze and see the world, reason things out and critique them, and that is something to see as well. Hell, when you see cursive handwriting! You think, how did this amazing child come to live with me? :)

5. the scent of the ocean, any time I wished it

Maybe it doesn't fit the thread, but if i allowed myself to dwell on it, i would weep. I lived my first 36 1/2 years within three miles of the Pacific Ocean and could smell the ocean anytime i stepped out of doors. I miss that desperately.
