3. If you're in Portland tonight, you might want to consider

holding a protest sign for the Dubya visit. He'll be up here in Seattle tomorrow.

He's planning to court Oregonians and Washingtonians in support of his (please note the quotation marks) 'Ecological Development Plans.'

These are incredibly short-sighted and sometimes outright destructive policies and folks need to turn out and show some solidarity with the local Democrats and environmental activitist.

(Not that you aren't a worthy expenditure of time and political energy, too, Will - But we can do BOTH!!)

4. Bad news

Hi Will,

DH and I were hoping to be there tonight (and to bring the appropriate libations.)

We have an unavoidable conflict -- i.e., one of the organizations I asked for an endorsement is now demanding I attend a meeting across town at the same time.

I am so sorry about this. I hope that we'll be able to see you when you are next in our fair city.
