What's the first AND last DVD that you bought???
If you don't own a DVD player than let us know what was your first & last VHS you bought.

First DVD I bought was "Elizabeth" with Cate Blanchett and Joseph Fiennes. It was a great movie about the rise of Queen Elizabeth I (my favorite leader from history).

The last DVD I bough was "Under a Tuscan Sun" with Diane Lane (one of my favorite actresses). I know a place that sells used DVD and I was able to get it for $13 instead of $25 which is the price in the stores

1. The first purchase was a triplex --
"A Beautiful Mind," "Guys and Dolls," and "The Maltese Falcon." I showed them all in my Honors Game Theory class.

Last one would be "The Magic Flute."

2. First, I'm not sure.
I bought a handfull with my first dvd player. As I recall, Conspiracy Theory was in that first batch. Today when I went out for lunch I picked up The Day the Earth Stood Still, so that's the latest one.

7. Last: Matrix Revolutions
First: Hmmm... let's see. Might have been Star Trek: Insurrection.

And while those two particular movies are both fairly lame, I DO own some good ones. (I've got about 150, so some of the HAVE to be good, right?)

8. DVDs are like potato chips and crack cocaine
Once you start you can't stop.

I love the format. Haven't counted them all but I have a bunch and still buy more.

I like the used market too, because a used VHS has a huge chance of being crappy or worn out, and all you have to do with a DVD is look at the shiny side, most of the time, and also any dirt wipes right off.

First DVD was season one of Michael Moore's "The Awful Truth" (I bought it before I had a DVD player)

Last DVD bought was "Dope, Guns & F*cking in the Streets", a compilation of music videos on the Amphetamine Reptile label (the Cows rule!)

So, a happy variety :)

13. 1st - Whatever Happened
to Baby Jane - it was a gift from one of the most lovely Southern gentlemen I have ever had the good fortune to know. Note to homophobic Southerners - keep on sending yer men up North! You don't want 'em, we'll take 'em! Someone has to teach us New Yorkers how to be polite :-)

Latest DVD purchase - Big Trouble in Little China. And it was only 8 bucks!!

21. First: not sure, maybe the first "X-Men"
Last, three Korean DVDs of Korean movies:

* Wonderful Days -- big-budget science-fiction CGI/anime; stunk to high heaven.

* Oldboy -- won 2nd prize at Cannes; haven't watched it yet, but the other two movies I've seen from Park Chan-wook have been excellent.

* Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring -- friggin' great, as discussed in this thread I started:

And in between, 1300+ other DVDs:
