I just got a horrendous email from a woman who just assumed I was Christian because I am an ordained minister, and she got all pissy and insulting when I asked her to remove me from her email list. Get this, she said she is not a judgmental person, then proceeded in the NEXT line to call me despicable, anti-American and downright evil.Then she said I made her cry and she was already so depressed from 9-11, how could I be so mean and rude? ALL I DID WAS ASK TO BE REMOVED FROM A FUCKING EMAIL LIST. Seriously, these right wing Christians have some pretty serious mental problems and are downright dangerous.

WHY ARE CHRISTIANS THE ONLY ONES WHO KEEP SENDING THESE EMAILS? Muslims and Jews never send me insulting convert or burn in hell emails? Or coming to my door trying to convert me and getting pissed at me when I tell them I am not interested>>> There are so many loving and tolerant Christians out there, why are the minority of extremist assholes the ones that I keep encountering?

I had to rant because it pissed me off so much. I am so sick and tired of people assuming I am a "Bible-quoting, Jew and Muslim hating" Christian. EVEN IF I WERE CHRISTIAN, which I am not, I would not hate Jews and Muslims.

...the "party in power", so to speak, so they are forced to play nice. No law necessary -- they are minorities.

In other places, the positions are reversed, sometimes with extreme prejudice. Try to do Christian evangelism in Saudi Arabia.

If I recall correctly, it's illegal to do Christian evangelism in Israel too. Although you'll get whacked in a much less nasty way.

try being christian -- and against every last little thing practically they believe in.
there are many family events where i'm not welcome -- or jehovas that i see in my neighborhood or conservative folk in my church that all have very bad memories about me being in their general vinicinity.
all because of a kind of mistaken identity.
all i can say is -- learn to take some perverse pleasure in it.

9. When I encounter one of these morons outside,

I usually smile and very confidently tell them that I might be a little interested and that I would love to chat further. Then I tell them that I am a devil worshipper and that they are welcome to come to our meeting deep in the woods at midnight where we will be performing a ritual sacrifice and where we can discuss things. Then I wish that they have a nice day and that I will see them later! All done with an eery smile on my face - think about the kind of smile a brainwashed Mormon has when you encourage them to tell you about their religion.
