The Universe is conspiring against me

Seriously. :)

I was having a bad day already. To try to bust myself out of a bad mood I decided instead of sitting at home in the dark brooding I would go out to dinner with friends. Wrangled up GOPisEvil and flush_bush for company and we went out for Mongolian Barbq. It was yummy and the guys were doing a great job distracting me from my mood.

Anyway, dinner ends and the waiter guy brings our fortune cookies. GOPisEvil plays eenie-meenie-minie-mo to pick his and opens it and gets a typically upbeat fortune.

I looked at him and said something along the lines of "with the day I'm having my forutne is gonna say 'give up now and avoid the pain'". He gave me a patented GOPisEvil look. I grabbed a fortune cookie, opened it, and...it was empty. NO FORTUNE AT ALL. *sigh*

Everyone on earth gets a happy smiley fortune...I get an empty cookie. Tell me that isn't a sign from the universe (just a sign that quality control is not so good at the fortune cookie factory).

no news is good news. :)

I don't really believe in fortune cookies. Plus it was hard to get too upset with GOPisEvil sitting there next to me giggling giddily.

11. Happened to me last week

The empty fortune cookie syndrome strikes me about once a year. Let's see, I eat about 26 fortune cookies a year, that means about a 4% defect rate.

"In bed" to the end of them. You won't get a fortune, but you might bget a good laugh.

But I'm already jealous. Eating Mongolian BBQ in Austin on a Tuesday night must mean you're doing something right in your life!

flush_bush's opinion was that I did get a fortune...it's just "in bed". :) That works for me.

And you're right...having Mogolian barbq in Austin on a Tuesday WITH GOPisEvil and flush_bush ain't half bad. :)

18. Haven't talked to my "Daphne" about it yet...

I'll probably give her a holler at work tomorrow when things get boring and tell her all about it. She's gonna cackle like a madwoman when she hears about this one. :)
