It's driving me crazy! I have tried google and other things, but it seems obivous I am mispelling it terribly.

... is a word that imitates the sound it represents.
also imitative harmony. Example: splash, wow, gush, kerplunk

examples: buzz, tinkle, whiporwill, etc.
