A Question for DU Web Designers ... please help ...
Im opening a gym, and I need to process monthly member dues ... I ignorantly selected B of A's 'eStores' access .. if only because I bank with them, and was convinced it was the right thing to do ...

yeah ... right ...

So now: ... I log in to the portal, and it appears I must be VERY well versed in HTML shopping cart development to actually utilize this service ...

I am not ....

I used to dabble in web design, but like back in the day when Kernighan and Ritchie was the C standard .... Yes: I am that old ...

Anyways: My question is : Is it possible to find an off the shelf 'front end' for an eStore portal which possesses these attributes:

> Enter and maintain customer information ...

> Process single transactions ...

> Process 2, 3, and 4 recurring payments, then stop ...

> Process 6 month/12 month recurring payments, then continue until cancelled ..

> Print receipts for customers ...

> process batches

> print daily, weekly and monthly reports ...

> To do ALL this, while adding state and local sales taxes ...

> To do this from a store computer which will have limited and secure access by authorised employees ... NO public access ever ...

----------------------------------------

Isnt there already 1000's of instances of such web pages ? ...

I've opened a gym (Women's only, like Curves, but better ) and I have about 2 weeks before I MUST begin to process payments ...

I received the sad news from B of A: they do not include a web site framework with their eStore merchant service ...

SO: .. My question is this: IS there a source template that includes these things I need ? ...

What is my solution ? ...

Thanks beforehand ...

1. You Need Back-End, Not Front

Databasing and a dynamic language that will do math for you.

If BoA isn't supplying the full package, leave them and find someone who will.

Check out these guys -

2. I thought back end ...
Edited on Wed Jun-02-04 10:04 PM by Trajan
was my company bank account .... chuckles ....

I am thinking this was a big mistake: I need my hand to be held to start .... I will ween quickly once I climb the curve ...

I do use Quickbooks, and they do offer a direct connect between their app. and Wells Fargo bank ....

As it stands: my QB was to be for bookeeping and customer financials, but not for the transactions themselves ...

I wanted to use the eStores 'front end' as a 'cash register' for credit card transactions ... I was going to post those transactions to QB manually, and let eStores deposit the revenues into my B of A co. account ... Going with QB merchants services will require a premium on every transaction that will flow through Wells Fargo, whom I do not bank with ....

Wells Fargo dosnt have a branch in my area ...

So: eStores is connected to my account, but distant from my bookkeeping ( and unusable at this point ) ....

And: QB would connect my bookkeeping to my transactions, forgoing manual entry into QB of each transaction, but the revenues would be distant from my bank account .... Ill need to pay extra to Wells Fargo to move my funds to B of A ....

In the end: this might be a much better solution ..

I must admit: from what I read about the capability of eStores to execute various transaction types, it would better suit my needs .... but DAMN: I have GOT to be able to use it ...

I contacted a web designer today, and Im hoping it wont cost too much to develop such a 'store' site, as it is MUCH less extensive than a full up commerce site, in that I require no inventory or customer action on the site ... JUST the credit card processing ...

Thanks for your help Crisco .. I know we disagree at times, but I surely appreciate your sage advice ...

This is my cross to bear this next week ... And I dont suppose Ill be doing much else until I get this solved ...

Thanks ...

4. Working right now on an estores site
You will get quite a bit of inventory and customer action that comes with the account. You need to get an SSL certificate if you don't have one already, and a shopping cart.

Not a major deal. My cart is written in PHP and is very stable, and configurable.

3. You could rent a coder...

Try http://www.rentacoder.com/

on edit:
I don't think what you want would be very expensive at all.

If you can't find a solution, you can try with PayPal... it is very easy to use, although it has its drawbacks too. PayPal accepts nearly all credit cards.

5. I have been bombarded by 'bank card services ...
but the eStores 'solution was a cheaper alternative ... I suspect that the very shysters who are promoting the 'buy yer own ATM machine and get rich' schemes are also creating this flood of B2B calls ive been getting .... they tend to have hidden fees that increase my overall costs ...

Ill probably pay a local web developer to produce a usuable website ...

Thanks for your response ...
