GD!MF! Benefits deadline MF!BS! |
|
I know I know I shouldn't be upset about GETTING benefits (not that ours are that great) but this is ridiculous.
So on May 25th we have a "Benefits Fair" and lo and behold guess what the forms are due TODAY! Actually tomorrow but they are telling everyone today because NO ONE KNEW WHEN THEY WERE DUE!!!
So my wife and I will sit down tonight and figure out what she has and what I have and what we want to do. I had no idea the deadline was so soon.
Here's the kicker-If you don't fill out the formS then *POOF* no insurance no medical no dental (sucky plan BTW) NOTHING!
If you want to make changes this is your ONE SHOT THIS YEAR and if you don't fill out the forms you have to wait until next year, no bennies at all. BTW-DU'er Demman is on vacation I hope he knew about this ahead of time.
I asked my Repub boss why we couldn't change it when we wanted/if something comes up "Federal regulations I am sure" Well I was pissed so over my shoulder I said "Gee wonder who screw workers over with that one" He knows what I mean.
Ridiculous!

I didn't lose benefits, but they were downgraded because I didn't get my change in by the deadline. I was in the hospital with a threatened late term miscarriage, but I guess that's not a good enough excuse. I ended up owing thousands in deductibles by the time I had the baby.

2. Yikes that is horrible |

Luckily the baby was okay but for crying out loud. I know "paperwork is paperwork" but that is ridiculous.

3. You can't change anytime you want, because. . . . |
|
then people would wait to pay for insurance until they were sick. Having a set time for when people can join helps keep down the cost by including healthy people in the insurance pool.
