My Arizona 'Mom' is one of the many reasons DU matters. Wise, funnier than all get-out, and possessing a heart bigger than the open vistas of her namesake, she brings warmth, humor, wisdom, and insight to the things close to our hearts.

I am grateful to her for a great many things (and she knows above all of whom I speak), and so I dedicate a great big CONGRATULATIONS to DesertRose!!!

I think humor is very healthy. People thought I was a little crazy cause I was laughing & making jokes at my dad's funeral...but hell, he woulda been the first to make the same smart ass comments I did. That man had an odd sense of humor...guess it runs in the family....

Hey...I got a sick kitty...Isis is in kidney failure.....I'm so sad....you ever have that experience with any kitties??

16. I'm so sorry about Isis..

I lost my little princess Susie Girl a few years ago to kidney disease. Meds helped for a while, but eventually her kidneys gave out. She was only 10 years old and so dainty. She weighed only 7 pounds compared to Ryno at 12, Wrigley at 17, and Sam at 25+.

She was such a cuddler....

What is Isis' current condition?

18. She's hanging tough....

She's 8 yrs old and weighed about 7lbs10oz about 3 weeks ago....not eating much of anything...drinking minimal water...throwing up ( twice this week so far).

Vet said her creatinine & BUN were way high...was in the kitty hospotal for 2+ days on IV and the levels went up instead of down....sleeps a lot...tomorrow when she gets in fused I may ask about the puking meds .....We put her on Hill k/d diet....but she eats only a few bites all day.

She also has hypothyroid that kills her appetite and I think now her teeeth are bad.....poor girl.. She is a good sweet girl. We have her "kitten", Yoda who is now 7 and a big ol' blonde blob ( afriad to weigh him- he gets a check up soon as I can afford it)...but very loveable....

......sigh....

20. Unfortunately, that sounds familiar.

Love her all you can. Suz didn't get infused because she went so fast. My sister's cat Steve, who lived to be 20+, was though. She infused him many many times and he lived several years. He was a tough old guy, one of the great cats.

21. thanks...thats what the vet said...

sometimes a few months...sometimes years...we are infusing twice a week at this point...but if she doesn't eat???? well....
so yeah, I am loving her...its like she's turning into a tiny kitten before my eyes....won't let her suffer though.......
