Worthless congress. Why are we paying these people?
Just witnessed a pro forma session of the house on c-span.

pro forma session - A brief meeting (sometimes only several seconds) of the Senate or House in which no business is conducted. It is held usually to satisfy the constitutional obligation that neither chamber can adjourn for more than three days without the consent of the other.

It took about one minute for the processional to the throne, the obligatory opening prayer, and the motion to adjourn until Monday.
End of session.
Have a good week-end guys.
:grr:

2. Reminds me of the TX Legislature.
Part of my employment is to watch debate on bills as they come up. The schedule says, debate begins at 9:00. However, after all the proclamations for last year's badminton state champs from Possum Squat, TX, and the hellos to constituents from Mule Fritter, TX the actual debate gets going around 11. Makes me OH, SO productive. Also, they dick around for 140 of their 150 allotted days, then work like ants the last ten days to pass everything.

3. Look at it this way
With congress being republican controlled right now, they aren't doing anything that will set us back another five years by taking the time off.
