The state wants it's dollar back?
Apparently they overpaid my unemployment benefits by exactly 1 dollar and they want it back.

How should I send it? Check? Pennies? Coupons that are worth 1/20th of a cent each?

Sigh....

Me, I'd
send them an invoice itemizing their postage for sending you the notice that they want their dollar back, your postage for the letter, and send them a check for the dollar minus postage. Then again, that's me and I'm a big pain in the ass.

1. Send them 63 pennies

And tell them if they want the other 37 cents, to buy a glue stick and reuse the stamp. :p

2. Check - it costs them to process and isn't a hassle for the poor clerk
who will have to take care of whatever you send in. It isn' their fault, though they might find the coupons pretty funny! Oh, and I would wait for at least the 2nd or third notice - they won't report you to a credit bureau until you are in "default" for that dollar!

I mailed it to them and about 6 weeks later they sent me a check for over $300. No explaination.
