Security at concerts
I went to a concert Thursday night here in Corpus Christi and I was actually FRISKED as I went in!! I was not singled out- a lot of people were patted down but I was very shocked and upset by this. Some woman had here hands all over my ass (I am female). I guess it would have been worse if it was a guy. I even cried because it felt like a violation. It was a rock/blues show where there were maybe 2000 people. The venue was not a public facility so I guess security can do whatever the hell they want. I am still pissed over it and will never go there again. Is this a common occurrence at shows? I guess I will stick to clubs.

1. A Security male...
Putting his hands on your ass, during a patdown is not kosher, one little bit. That is why there are supposed to be femal security guards at shows, and responsible promoters insist on them. Having said that, I was hit on the ankle by a bottle that was thrown from the upper tier of an arena, while I was standing on stage, and it dropped me to the ground.

Facts are, assholes go to concerts and solidify their assholiness standing. I understand WHY the patdowns take place, but I understand why people absolutely hate them.

4. I won't go to any more

I absolutely refuse to go to any more shows at that venue or any other where they do that. CDs are much better anyway. I can't stand crowds. The security goons can go fuck themselves. I bet they are only doing they because they failed the exams to be prison guards anyway. They are all Fucking assholes. As a friend of mine says, "SEIG HEIL, Y'ALL".

2. Frisking concertgoers isn't uncommon at all in my experience
I've been frisked several times going into concerts (and yes, clubs too). I generally don't give it too much thought as long as they don't touch inappropriate places like my crotch, or if they're searching women, their breasts.

Tandalayo's right, there are enough idiots to justify security frisking people coming in. When I was growing up and listening to heavy metal in the '80s, I heard (and read) plenty of stories about morons doing stuff at metal concerts, like throwing firecrackers onstage while the band was playing.

3. Yes that happens
At the last concert, they even had a guy arrested a little ways in front of me. I got really nervous since I had a pipe in my shoe. Luckily, in all the commotion, they weren't checking people at the door that I went through.

5. Doesn't seem that unusual
I've been frisked at concerts for 10+ years. They made everybody do it before entering. And these weren't "wild" concerts, either.

Then there are others with seemingly no security whatsoever.

I think it's a combination of policies: the band, the producer/promoter, the venue, and the local police/code enforcement all have an influence.
