Offical Adolph Hitler/Pol Pot thread...
Boy, I sure didn't like their politics, buty they were porobably okay guys. Hitler was quite an artist, and owned a dog, so how bad could he be?

Pol Pot liked to collect Hummel figurines, and enjoyed light opera, particularly Gilbert and Sullivan.

They're dead now, so maybe we should cut them some slack.

4. Not only did Hitler love dogs
He was also a vegetarian and abhorred smoking long before that was a popular stance.

Did Pol Pot seriously enjoy G&S?

Google doesn't return anything on this.

6. Hitler was also a vegetarian and like many in the US
wanted a smoke free and fat free society.

I agree the man is dead. We should respect his family and not celebrate his death. Let's show respect to the man now that he is no longer among us. I am sure he was good to his family and friends.

8. hey, they were humans, and
they deserve respect, not hatred.

They were presidents and deserve the respect that comes with that office.

It is not right for liberals to be angry. They should meekly accept that these men were humans and deep down they were sensitive troubled souls. And oh yeah, what about their families?

9. Pol Pot was really little Saloth Sar
Pol Pot was a nom-de-guerre. He was born Saloth Sar, to a well-educated (perhaps relatively rich) family to the west of Phenom Phen. Pol Pot, the pseudonym, means Brother Number One. All from a great essay in Granta a few years back.

You nailed it. Anyone who apologizes for the death of a despotic shithole like Reagan can kiss my hairy yak ass.
