You never knew exactly how much you drank with the boxed wines. Only by shaking the box. :-) I remember them quite well...I had some good times with them. :-)

Hey, box wines are great. Think about this. If you pick up a glass bottle of wine and hit yourself with it on the forehead, it's a trip to the emergency room. If you pick up a box of wine and hit yourself on the head with it, you just look silly.

17. Boxed wine has a bad rap

Granted, it's well-deserved, since only shit wine was packaged that way for so long.

But, if you want to buy Hardy's merlot or shiraz (a rather nice, inexpensive aussie wine) in a 3 liter quantity, the box is great. It's cheaper than 4 bottles (same quantity of wine), and due to the collapsible mylar bag, the wine doesn't oxidise if you drink it slowly.
