1. Toss up between her and Audrey Hepburn
Both women strikingly beautiful- But Natalie more of a classic beauty. Audrey had an impish quality.

between the Hepburns: Audrey or Katherine.

Kate Hepburn in Bringing Up Baby is quite simply the most attractive person I've ever seen, taking into account physical presence and personality.

Kudos also to Clara Bow and Susan Sarandon.

30. since no one else has mentioned her
I will say Raquel Welch.

"all-time most beautiful" is an impossibility to narow down to one though.

In no particular order, I would agree with those who have mentioned
Grace kelly
Catherine Denuve (sp?)
Sophia Loren
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Katherine Hepburn

and add that Audrey Hepburn never appealed at all to me. The original anorexic star as far as I can tell.

i completely agree, so hard to narrow it down to one.

interesting to see the generation gap, although I must say all the above mentioned ladies are quite gorgeous!

so, from a much younger perspective (in no particular order)

Jessica Alba

Catherine Zeta-Jones

Lucy Liu

33. part of the reason
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 03:29 PM by Kennethken
for the generation gap is that in regard to the younger women you mention, it's too soon to tell how they will age. (see Kirsty Ally or Farrah Fawcett or a host of others) A good 90% or more of all women are beautiful and sexy in their late-teens through their twenties.

Good call on Lucy Liu; she will almost certainly age well.

Milla Jovovich is a question mark for me. She did nothing for me in 5th
Element, but was quite appealing in Resident Evil. I've not seen her in any other films nor magazines etc. so I have limited exposure to her. Nice pic that you posted though.

64. Norma Jean Mortenson (Marilyn Monroe)
I never really thought much of her until I did some research on her lately -goodness knows, we need more like her.

But then again most of the stars from the 30s, 40s and 50s were very beautiful. Bette Davis, Jane Randolph, Simone Simon, Virginia McKenna and Audrey Hepburn would all rank highly on my list

Today I would have to make an unusual and unpopular choice and either go with Glenn Close, Kim Cattrall or Beth Broderick

It seems like all the guys here are objectifying women by ranking them on their physical attributes. In other words, women = faces + bodies, not necessarily in that order. Would you guys want to be judged that way?

Try this logic experiment, JDWalley (or whoever wants to chime in), see what you think...

A man walks into a buffet restaurant. There are three types of vegetables in the buffet line - peas, carrots, and corn. The man grabs a plate and fills it with carrots. Then he leaves the buffet line, sits down and proceeds to eat.

An observer sees this and says "From what I've just seen, I am certain that man will only eat carrots, and neither peas nor corn."

Is the observer correct?

83. Can't pick just one.
So...

1920's: Louise Brooks, Josephine Baker

1930's: Hedy Lamarr

1940's: Ingrid Bergman

1950's: Elizabeth Taylor

1960's: Sophia Loren

1990's-now: Angelina Jolie

(couldn't think of a standout for the decades I didn't pick anyone for)
