I'm tired of wearing pants
Men should be able to wear short skirts in the summertime. My best friends get very hot in pants. I gotta find a solution. Is there a better one?

1. Jamie Farr(Klinger) had no problem wearing skirts!
Neither did the Greeks or Romans, for that matter...

Heck, I say go for it. Maybe you should try a kilt at first. :D

Or else, wear those super-short, light weight jogging
shorts for men! They look really good!

2. Get a kilt.
Of course, I think they're made of heavy, woolen material, so that might not help much.

5. Oh, and please....
...don't forget the jock-strap. Otherwise, you might get easily injured in your lightweight cotton plaid. (Those don't have to be ironed, either if you get them hung up right out of the dryer.)

6. Get a big dress thing like the Pope wears...
Or like the ones worn in Harry Potter. You'll look either exotic or really eccentric.

7. Those might be too warm, though, don't you think?
I think a toga or a kilt would be his best bet.

Or a sarong. . . :-)

10. Make a fashion statement. Go with a loincloth and maybe it will catch on
a garment whose time may return! Besides, all us 'girls' who had to endure cold car seats in mini skirts in the 60s would get a kick outta you guys toasting your butts on the same car seats :P

Regarding the kilt solution: you all know the joke about the Scot in a kilt who passed out drunk in the park and the blue ribbon, don't you?

13. Try a Shalwar kamiz, sarong, or longyi
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 07:59 PM by Eye and Monkey
I've lived in regions of the world where they are ubiquitous, so it was easy to get away with wearing such attire.

Drawbacks in mind, I recommend experimentation. It's likely to add to your inventory of tall tales.

The shalwar is the extra long shirt that men from North Africa to Malaysia wear. You wear pajama bottoms underneath - underwear is optional. Drawbacks - you still wear pants, albeit very lightweight; in the current "security environment", you'll often be considered a suspicious character.

Sarongs & longyi are pretty much the same - just a clothe wrapped around the waist. A longyi is actually a tube that you step into and then fold in a cool way. Very very comfortable. Drawbacks - mosquitoes find their ways up the inside; in the current "morality environment", if you're with another man, you'll get cracks about the two of you getting married.
