What cute, funny or just plain odd things do your dogs do?

My dog Leo goes totally nuts when we shoo flies out of the house.
He barks and howls and runs back and forth, lol. I'd give some money
to know what's going on in his head sometimes!

What things do your dogs do that make you laugh or go :wtf: ?

1. Our old dog was terrified of the sound hot air ballons make
She would literally leap into our arms (all seventy pounds of her) whenever one would come near. :)

2. My pug howls
like a hound dog whenever he wants something...a treat, to chew on the ferret, my attention...It's absolutely hysterical to see this little dog baying like a basset...:D

4. That is funny
My dog howls a lot too, sometimes at really weird things, like I mentioned.
But he's lab and doberman, and somehow it seems to suit him. :-)

3. My dog watches TV
All the time. It started with the animals, but now he'll pretty much watch anything. When it gets exciting (for him) he jumps straight up in the air and barks. We leave it on Animal Planet at our own peril. He's been doing it for about 5 years now. He didn't start until he was 3.

He loves to watch football.

And now here lately, I've been having to catch my parrot in a towel and give her medicine. It drives both dogs absolutely WILD.

7. Sometimes Leo does too,
He likes animal movies the most.
It was funny to see that "Bruce Almighty" got his attention once the dog came in, but
then he watched the rest of the movie even when the dog wasn't
in the scenes!! It was too funny. :-)

14. Mine does too... I found out when the Presidential debates were on...
she was transfixed (and I was more than a little FREAKED coming into the room to see her sitting there watching so intently)... Since then nothing has caught her attention quite to that level, but she does like to watch the news now and then (I think she thinks the guy is talking to her).

5. we have a ionizer on the ac return in the hall
every time it "snaps" my 85 # border collie wants to crawl in my pocket, I can only figure the sound hurts his ears or something, but after months and months he still freaks out. We call it the "scary hall monster" and laugh. It doesn't bother the other two dogs, just the "big guy"

9. Leo's scary machine story: he is afraid of Big Vacuum cleaners
He'll run away and hide as far away as he can when they come on.

On the other hand, oddly enough, he loves having his coat vacuumed
with the little hand-vac that we have.

6. Little Dog sneaks up and pulls Big Dog's tail.
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 08:24 PM by Eye and Monkey
Big Dog discreetly steals Little Dog's chew bones when Little Dog's attention span wanders. Cat stalks and pounces on Little Dog, throwing Little Dog over shoulder and to the floor in body-slam. Little Dog snatches mouthful of Big Dog's food while discreetly trotting past. Cat (male) gives Little Dog thorough tongue cleaning most every evening. Outside, Big Dog chases bees (snap snap whirl snap whirl) while Little Dog trims the grass at the edge of the porch. I could go on and on.

8. One of my dogs spins on his butt when his hemorrhoids flare up.
It's funny as all get out.

My other dog, she absolutely cannot stand flying insects,...and will knock over anything in her path to catch one of those buggars.

10. My dog Mick chases cars and "heards" them like cattle
He also walked a path in our yard, it's in a straite line no wider than 3".

11. My dog makes a wooo wooo sound
I love it when he does it. Mostly when he gets excited about a biscuit, or when someone comes home from the grocery store with a bunch of bags. He makes a little "O" with his mouth and just sings.

He also loves to attack the vacuum cleaner.

12. My dog hates the lawn mower
She chases it and bites the wheels, but only when I am pulling it toward me. I guess she thinks it is chasing me and she is going to protect me.

13. My dog sits on my lap
while I scratch the top of his head, or his jaw right in front of his ears. If I stop before he wants me to, he will hit me on the nose with his paw!

15. Fionna...
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 09:11 PM by FleshCartoon
...tears one eye out of each of her stuffed animals. What's so strange about that is that my other dog (who died last year) had to have one eye removed surgically years ago.

16. Our beagle lays down in the grass
Sprawls out and just crawls on her belly for a few feet, with a big sh**-eating grin on her face.

17. My dachshund Wyatt
gives himself a manicure when his nails get too long. He lies on our bed and chews them down to an acceptable length, then applies polish-----well, maybe not polish, but he does chew his nails.

20. Fargo likes to lay on the couch with me....
with his head in my lap (good thing it's a BIG couch!). If I'm surfing on my laptop and not paying enough attention to him, or if he just wants more cuddles, I get a "Pyr paw."

Evidently, this is a characteristic of the breed-- just hefting a huge paw at you when they want something.

It's really difficult to surf sometimes with this giant paw messing with my keyboard. If I get annoyed at him, he'll flip his head backward, his ears will flop over inside out, and he'll just gaze up at me with this goofy gaze, like "What mom? You spend too much time on that black box. Pay attention to me!"

Then he flips over on his back, and insists on a huge tummy rub. If he lays on his back too long for the tummy rub, he has to sneeze!
