Poll question: What kind of season in pro sports satisfies you?
Thought this would be an interesting question to examine the psyche of DU's sports fans.

Being a Philly fan, only a championship will satisfy me at this point. It's been too long for such a major market.

14. I moved to Chicago right before...
...they won their 6th title. Not much has gone right since. I'm not necessarily a Chicago sports fan, but I'd like to see one of the teams do well.

13. Hey, we've got the Twins 1987 and 1991 seasons...
when they won it all. And 1991 is considered by many the greatest World Series of all time.

But as a Viking fan first and foremost, all I can say is "Uff Da"!

4. I want my teams to play to the maximum of their potential.
Sometimes that means winning a championship, sometimes not.

Of course winning championships is nice, though. :D

5. Just an escape
Edited on Sun Jun-06-04 09:42 PM by AG78
for a few hours. I watch the games simply for the games. If my chosen team happens to win, great. If not, that's ok too. I'm not the one out there on the team. If I were, that's different. But I'm just a fan. The team I've followed for most of my life has never won a championship, and has only been to the finals once. If they never win one, I won't lose any sleep over it.

7. Being a life-long Saints fan (or, more accurately, an Ain'ts fan) -
We're usually more-or-less grateful as each game ticks down and the misery will be over soon. By the time that the season has ended, we usually know that we can look forward to a Mardi Gras season unimpeded by the Ain'ts washing-out of the playoffs.

But you know, we keep coming back for more.

8. The championship - stanley cup
Vancouver has never won it, and the city deserves one like no other city does.

11. Depends on the team
For instance, the Dolphins missing the playoffs is totally unacceptable. I expect nothing less than at least a wild card round exit.

On the other hand, the Heat had a fabulous season. I consider it a great success, even though they didn't win the Title.

Basically, I want the team to play up to, and perhaps sometimes, exceed expectations.

12. Being a Football(American so the Foriegn DUers know)fan I picked
Playoffs because the Super Bowl is too commercialized and is usually hit and miss on the games being any good. The playoffs always have a good game and last year the "Final Eight" playoffs, had a close game, every game.
