Homelessness is slow death by exposure to the elements. The ancients used that as a method of execution, a slow method worse than the quick ones.

We are doing this in the middle of our cities, broad daylight.

It was called "de-institutionalization."

He took away many veterans rights to health care through the VA.

I would say he was very largely responsible for the homelessness of the eighties.

The person before him who was responsible was Hoover.

I believe Meese, who was in his cabinet, said that people were homeless because they wanted to be, and that many of the stories about homelessness were anecdotal.

He messed around with Social Security, too, so that many disabled lost their benefits.

I would say he bears quite a bit of responsibility for modern day homelessness.

I don't want this to be a piss on Reagan response, though. Let him have his funeral and his eulogies. And then, let's move on.

I have seen comments by the charities, saying "we thought in the early eighties, this hmlss problem would be a temporary thing."

From that, i inferr that hmlssnss was massively upticked by RR.

I gather the US has always had some hmlssness. It "keeps wages low", as the wage ladder links every pay level to the lowest one. And hmlss scares us out of striking.

But RR massively upticked the hmlss.

Hmlss sites are not geared to presenting scholarly stats on it. Anyone know of such a stat site?
