6. *snarf*
Bad Fen...:spank:

Our tap water is orange. Always. Well, I mean it's originally orange, we have filters and water softeners and all that crap that makes it drinkable, but if you're outside watering stuff...orange.

It's that good ol' Cah'lina clay what does it...;)

The house was built in the 1920's
All the pipes in the house are copper, but i'm wondering what the main line is underground. It might be iron coming out, but i don't know.......I hope it's only iron.

7. Yuck. Sounds like Florence.
I took a bath at our hotel in Florence, Italy, and the water was a funky orangey/brown color.

One of the only things that keeps me from moving to Italy. Well, that and Berlusconi.

I wish you luck with your H2O difficulties.

8. My guess is that it's the pipes.
The water company is probably not pumping brown water to your house.

11. In Oakland, CA,,,some neighborhoods routinely had brown water
Supposedly it was safe but most residents bought bottled water. I lost track of the issue because I changed jobs. BTW, yep it was a predominantly black neighborhood. I had lovely water from the same company at the same time.

17. When it does clear up there will probably still be rusty water---
in your hot water tank,be sure to run it all out.

I live in one of the most liberal cities in Massachusetts,it happens here too, as I said in an earlier post.

Good luck!

18. Check your water heater.
Our shower water turned brown just before the water heater bit the dust. Luckily, we got it replaced in time. Any longer, and we could have had a major flood in the basement.
