Beatles-lore required to enter UK

Six Brazilians have been sent home by British immigration officials after failing an impromptu quiz about the Beatles.

But they had no idea who Yoko Ono was and thought that Ringo Starr had died. They also struggled with a number of song titles. The Help! album raised problems, with the group failing to name any of the songs it contains.

Immigration officials promptly barred them from entry and told them they would have to make the 5,700-mile flight home.

Bill Heckle, who organised this weekend's festival for Cavern City Tours, said yesterday that the new arrivals had been among a group of 72 Brazilians.
